Shell Beach 6-30-08

Monday, good day for fishermen, bad day for Trout on the Beach. My friend Brian Renshaw brought Allen, Cliff, and Chris along for the maiden voyage on the new Blazer Bay. We made a stop by Campo’s for bait and headed to Bay Eloi. From the first cast it was fish on and the action never stopped. The Trout were eating up the live shrimp under a cork, and I joined in on the action with a Top Dog. The Trout were nothing big, but fast and the best eating size, 13”-16”. It did not take long to fill our limits. It was fast and fun. We did make a stop to look for some Reds, but the there was a good rain storm heading our way so we bailed out and head in to beat the rain and the heat. 125 Trout and a great time by all.

The Trout are on and the fishing in Shell Beach is outstanding. Campo’s is open with fuel, live bait, ice, and the newly improved back down ramps are open. Nice and easy launching with helpful advice from the Campo’s is waiting for you. For your next fishing adventure call United Charters, dates are filling fast. Very nice over night accommodations are avalible. 504-439-1680.
